Industrial Hygiene Featured

Industrial Hygiene Training will discuss the potential occupational health hazards; such as chemicals, physical, biological and ergonomics that workers encounter in the workplace. Discussion will include the principles of industrial hygiene (IH) and how an IH program should be implemented.

Workers are exposed to occupational health hazards that could either make them sick or affect their well being in the long term. In this view, it is extremely important that these health hazards be recognized (properly identified), magnitude of their effects determined (through proper evaluation), and controlled when exposures show exceedance of standards.
Industrial Hygiene Training will enable participants to

• Define industrial hygiene and describe the role of the industrial hygienist;
• Identify occupational health hazards in the workplace and determine their sampling and monitoring requirements;
• Define toxicology and describe chemical health hazards in the workplace;
• Identify the requirements of effective Hearing Conservation and Respiratory Protection Programs;
• Conduct an IH walk thru survey;
• Assist in evaluating the magnitude of personnel exposures to health hazards; and
• Identify applicable measures to control health hazards

“Safety is not about promoting brands and buying safety products… Rather, safety is about preventing accidents and managing risks. Products
are solutions, whereas Safety is a Way of Life.”
